Kinu Watanabe

Kinu Watanabe grew up in Japan, before moving to Seattle to study ceramics. She received a BFA in Ceramics from Osaka University of Arts, Osaka, Japan, and a MFA in Ceramics from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Kinu Watanabe is interested in the imprints left by human absence.  Her experience of moving from her home country to another country has made her more aware of her own identity and Japanese Culture.  Her anthropomorphic objects are whimsical, yet imbrued with a sense of history and story telling.
