Gala Bent

Seattle, WA

Gala Bent was born in Michigan, amidst many lakes and to parents who encouraged outdoor exploration and creative inquiry. A large volume of the History of Painting and crucially-timed art teachers helped to form her desire to become an artist. Gala studied painting and received a BFA at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, then received her MFA in visual art at State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1999. Soon after, she was married to fellow artist, Zack Bent. In the summer of 2006, Gala and Zack moved to Seattle, Washington, where they live with their three sons. The Bents also collaborate on art and design projects in various media and venues. Gala currently teaches at Cornish College of the Arts, and is represented in Seattle by G. Gibson Projects.
