Artists Gail Grinnell, Sam Wildman, and Eric John Olson used their residency at MadArt Studio to weave together an expansive, textile-based installation. Their work featured hanging components made from hundreds of yards of spun material that had been drawn on, dyed, cut, and incorporated into the architecture of the building. We Are a Crowd of Others also included a series of public programs. These meals, performances, lectures, and re-enactments investigated the language and resonance of ordinary acts. The public was invited to visit during the Open Studio period to observe the process as it unfolded and participate in the programs happening in and around the installation over the months.

This project was made possible by the support of MadArt Studio with funding from Seattle Office of Arts and Culture and Artist Trust.
