MadArt in the Park, continued MadArt’s mission to support emerging artists in the community. Seattle’s Cal Anderson Park in Capitol Hill served as the backdrop for 6 innovative, outdoor art installations. The project focused on the interactive nature of sculpture in public spaces. The artists were chosen to make new, large scale, temporary works, with an eye towards visitor interaction. The installation process was open to the public, giving viewers an inside look at the making of large scale sculpture, and turning part of the park into an outdoor art studio. MadArt in the Park provided artist and viewer alike an opportunity to physically interact with art in an everyday location.
MadArt in the Park was produced by MadArt, with Founder, Alison Milliman and past Director, Bryan Ohno.
